Normally, we record both sides of the record for these video segments, but since this is a mono/stereo promo copy, we're covering the mono side only. As it is with many of the other retro records we review, this was just a buck. I found it sitting in some record shop discount section and it was waiting for a person like me to scoop it up. I am happy to oblige! If you're a big fan of the "I'll Be Around" drum beat (the snare and tom at the same time), this is definitely a record for you. It may be a tad faster than the signature Spinners beat, but it's solid, and it's got a choo-choo train in it. It's a seriously cool sample to have in your arsenal, especially in remixing and mix-taping. The song lyrics aren't important here. They're there to support that choo-choo train. It's the star of the show.
