He Played Guitar On That Richard Marx Song?!

Who played guitar on Richard Marx's 1987 breakout hit "Don’t Mean Nothing"? Here’s a hint. Two former bass players in the guitarist’s disbanded supergroup sang backup on the track. The answer is… Joe Walsh. His signature guitar sound is there from the beginning, making it instantly familiar to rock fans at the time. No wonder it went to #1 on billboards rock chart, and #3 on billboard’s hot 100! "Don’t Mean Nothing" was nominated for Best Rock Vocal Performance at the 1988 Grammy awards, and Marx Became the first male artist to have 4 top 10 appearances on the hot 100 off of a debut album. Oh, and the two bass players from Walsh’s disbanded supergroup? Yep. That would be Randy Meisner and Timothy B Schmit, from the Eagles.
