Who Was The Eggman?

Who Was The Eggman?

The year is 1967. John Lennon writes and records one of his most psychedelic songs, I Am The Walrus. The lyrics reference John as “the eggman” in the song, but rock folklore tells a different story.

Who was the real eggman? The answer is…

Eric Burdon, vocalist for The Animals & Eric Burdon and War. According to Burdon, he once told a rather explicit story to Lennon about cooking breakfast with his girlfriend one morning. When she needed to crack eggs for omelets, she didn’t use the edge of the mixing bowl. She started cracking 'em on his abs, and let's just say Mr. Burdon ROSE to the occasion. The eggman, indeed!

That's just nasty.
