The song title has the word soul in it, but that doesn't mean that's what it is. It's another record I bought for the name alone, and got something totally different than what I expected. As you'll hear, it's more of a Tijuana Brass playing during an Annette Funicello beach party type of song. After researching the record further, it looks like later copies had a sticker over the title, changing the name of "Soul Count" to "Gulf of Mexico"... which makes WAY more sense. The same vibe plays out on "Wild Wildwood" but with vocals. The singer is mixed so low in the b-side track, it's baffling as to why they included vocals at all. Still, it's a cool little obscurity. I'm not mad at it.
